The Goathouse Provide Bed and Breakfast in Laxton
Laxton is a small village in north Nottinghamshire, going back to the Norman Conquest of 1066.
Nowadays visitors can still see the site of the castle at the outskirts of Laxton, and witness the areas best preserved motte and bailey castle.
You can also go to the lovely, and lovely, Church of St Michael the Archangel which goes back to early 12th century and is still regularly used.
Nonetheless, what makes the village of Laxton really individual is its usage of the open field farming system.
This system is the only open farming system in the UK and you can meander the fields on your own or have a tour with a guide, that we will happily arrange if you want.
