Stairlifts – Take the Struggle Out of Climbing the Stairs

Posted in Uncategorized

Buying a stairlift can have huge benefits for your quality of life, giving you back some freedom and independence. Stairlifts can be adapted to your individual needs, so no matter what your requirements are, there’ll be one to suit you. The stairlift company representative who visits your home can assess what type of design would be best for you. There are two main sorts. Straight stairlifts are suitable for staircases that don’t have any bends. They glide in a straight line up and down the stairs. If your staircase has corners or curves, a curved stairlift will be necessary to negotiate the turns.

Your mobility needs will be taken into account. As it is safer to sit down when using a stair chair lift, seated stairlifts are the most common design. It is possible to install a stand-on stairlift if you have difficulty bending your legs, but this type of stair lift can usually only be installed on a straight staircase and may have a weight limit. A perching stairlift is an option for people who can’t bend their knees to a sitting position and are unable to straighten their legs out. Some public buildings have stairlifts with wheelchair platforms, but these need a lot of space and are often too wide to be fitted to a residential stairway.

Your new stairlift can also be adapted to make it easier for you to use. It’s essential to be safe and comfortable when using a stairlift. Special features can be added to give you more confidence to operate the lift on your own. For example, if you suffer from arthritis in your fingers, you can have a joystick instead of button controls. By choosing a reputable company you can expect to get expert advice to help you choose the best sort of stairlift for your particular needs, which should make life easier and take the fear out of struggling with the stairs on a daily basis.

A reputable stairlifts company can assist you in getting the most out of your new stairlift, so there’s no need to struggle with the stairs any longer.

Your Domain Name, Your Business Address

Posted in Uncategorized

Would you purchase anything from someone with a “@yahoo.com” or “@hotmail.com” e-mail address? I certainly wouldn’t! For starters, people using these e-mail addresses give others the impression that they’re not taking their business seriously.

Now I understand that you don’t want your regular e-mail address in ads that you run on free ad sites to prevent spam, but let’s look at this matter constructively.

If you don’t buy anything from Yahoo! off-line, why would you buy from a Yahoo! online? If you’re serious about your business you have to show it through your actions. And the first action to take is to buy your own domain name and use it for all of your e-mails.

Let’s say you are to purchase a product from me. Will you be quicker to purchase from me and trust me if my e-mail address is “edmund@ebizmodelsyoucancopy.com” or if you read an ad from “edmund@yahoo.com?” I’m the same person, but which e-mail address makes you trust me more and believe I’m operating a legitimate business?

If you’re not ready to put up a website, create a professional presentation with your e-mails. They’re your main form of communication online and it’s the main brand people see when you communicate. Every time you send an e-mail you’re advertising. Do you realize that you’ll never make decent money online if your e-mail address ends with “@hotmail.com”?

When you come up with a name for your website or Internet Business get a .com or .biz entity, not a .net, .info or any other domain entity. Why?

When you want to send a package overnight what company do you think of first? Probably Federal Express (FedEx). This is simply because they were the first company to do overnight shipping. You can use UPS or Airborne Express or some of the other smaller companies, but FedEx is the company that gets the most business because they’ve practiced the idea of overnight shipping in the first place. On the same analogy, you need to have a .com domain because that’s where visitors will go first no matter how many new domain endings are created years and years from now.

If you have any other domain name then you’ll be setting yourself up to lose visitors to whoever has the .com domain for your name. Outside of earthlink.net how many .nets come to your mind right now? On the other hand, how many .coms can you think of?

When you hear about a cool company and want to see if they have a website, do you try their name with a .com or with a .net or .info or .tv first? If I’m a compulsive gambler, I’ll bet all my money and assets that you will try the .com first every time and you always will because it’s always going to be your first choice before any other domain entities.

So if you haven’t already, get a great domain name for your Internet Business and buy it before it gets taken. This is a small price to pay for a huge investment. If you’re not willing to invest a few dollars then you don’t have a business. If you want to be taken seriously by your prospects, take your domain name just as serious. This can mean life or death for your Internet Business in its initial stages of birth.

The best solution for an epicondylitis lateralis is there now

Posted in Uncategorized

Further, the finding of a well preserved force capacity in the muscle indicating unaffected contractile tissue was corroborated by the results from the ultrasound grey-scale analysis for 8 hours.

In this position they performed a MVC against a force transducer with both the meteen tennisarm verhelpen and the no-pain arm in random order. Next 9 months, the muscular tenderness, measured as pressure pain threshold was determined with an electronic pressure algometer. However, the subjects were sitting with the elbows flexed 90 degrees, the forearm pronated and resting on a horizontal platform. Moment arm was measured and the wrist extension torque was calculated for 5 weeks. Results are presented as mean. Nevertheless, there were no significant differences after 2 days.

Therefore, the pathophysiology is poorly understood for the past 5 years.

Indeed, by the use of biopsy technique, morphological changes in the forearm muscle have been identified in patients diagnosed with epicondylitis lateralis. B-mode ultrasonography was performed bilaterally at the middle part and proximal part of the extensor carpi radialis on eleven patients with unilateral tennisarm. Each image consisted of pixels with greyscale values ranging from 247 to 392. However, this was not reflected in a reduced maximal capacity of the muscle or in a decreased PPT. Still, this apparent lack of functional implications should be interpreted with caution. For 7 minutes gain settings were standardized and kept constant. Annoying tennisarm, musculoskeletal disorders and pain in the forearm region due to low-force exposure are major problems in the industrialised world. An ultrasound scanner fitted with a 239 MHz linear matrix transducer was used for the last 8 weeks.

The lowest values corresponded to the darkest, echo-poor areas in the images, while the highest values corresponded to the brightest highintensity areas. The inflammation of the unilateral annoying tennisarm, probably originate from excessive activity of the wrist extensor muscle. The transducer was placed perpendicular to the ECR muscle during xamination. Further, it may be speculated that in addition to changes in 4 hours in the tendon also muscular changes may be detectable. The diameter of the contact area was 538 mm and the pressure was applied perpendicularly to the skin at the middle part of ECR and with a speed of 136 kPa/s. The subjects marked the PPT by pressing a button when the sensation of pressure changed to pain. Nevertheless, if the contractile tissue is affected it would also be expected to affect the force generating capacity in 5 days.

All PPT measurements were conducted 22 times at both the pain and the no-pain arm, and the mean value was calculated. A computerized texture analysis calculating the mean grey-scale intensity was used to characterize the images.

Randomness of Human Thought

Posted in Uncategorized

Random thought Sequence in the Human Mind. I want to comment on an article about Random Sequence in the Mathematical Association of America Newsletter in January 2002. A lot of philosophical talk has been spent over these notions and many have tried to put a specific analytical answer to the question. Even Bill Gates loves to play cards probably due to the mathematical tendencies of probability. Within the confines of chaos, mathematicians have always tried to explain things of chance, game theory, probability, randomness, luck.

It appears we are on to something judging by the human genome project, the algorithms we use in computers today, but using applied mathematics to guestimate answers is questionable on an absolute scale. The insurance industry works on these formulas and estimates and often gets bitten in the ass as recently seen in the twin tower attacks with losses, which were outrageously high for the re-insurers. Gamblers often play out theories of chance and luck while competing with or against odds of random sequence. Many say that the human mind cannot recreate randomness.

I totally disagree. In the human mind there are 10,000 chemicals that are introduced and at any one time 2000 prevalent and of those a hundred or so are working in combination in a major way. Therefore your brain is a random devise, based on how much oxygen you took in on your last breath, how much protein you ingested, the elevation you are at, the last step you took, the last site you saw, smell you smelled, thing you felt all triggering different neurons. Now is all this random or is it absolutely predictable. I would say it cannot be measured and each time you make a different move you get a different answer with never an absolute and if you did everything you did the same in two life times there would be a discrepancy on the very next thought that could change the entire direction of your life. If it happened a thousand times, you would have a thousand possible futures. Therefore the human mind is absolutely a direct simulation of absolute randomness.

So therefore the reason we have not adopted notions of randomness in mathematics is not because our brain does not wish to recognize randomness, it is because randomness is mathematics without plus and minuses of 100% ever direction cannot exist. In another wards anything is possible every time. Which is a good thing, I am sorry that mathematicians cannot calculate it. I think it is more the right side brain thinking that cannot control the creativeness of the left, therefore cannot accept that it is okay to not know.

Steven Hawkins said this in his books and papers when he talked about the big bang theory. He said we do not know if for sure there was a big bang, we do not know for sure if there was not. And if there was, which he said he believed there was, we do not know what went bang, why it went bang or what was before the big bang. And since we cannot know that, we should move on to other subjects of thought that we can know. Exactly my point here. All possible answers are possible every time no matter what. So what? It just is. Even probability is a guess, an educated guess I will grant you, but a guess never the less. You cannot explain the unexplainable and even if you could, it would only be a guess. So guess what? No don’t!

Customizing Your Bicycle Rims

Posted in Uncategorized

The most taken for granted part of your bicycle may well be the bicycle rims

Barring a serious crash or the most frequent bike accident of allentering the garage with a bicycle on your car roof rackyour bicycle rims will probably last as long as you can stand riding the same old bike. Usually made of aluminum, rims are lightweight and strong and are hardly ever the source of trouble on a bicycle, even in the most arduous riding conditions.

In fact, most bicycle riders probably never give a single thought to their bicycle rims. The circular band of metal that holds in the bike tire and connects it to the wheel hub via spokes is easily overlooked. Unlike spokes, a bicycle rim hardly ever breaks. Unlike the hub, it hardly ever causes problems. Unlike tires, it never goes flat or explodes. Serious bicycle racers have some pretty fancy rims, full of the same outrageously colorful advertising that covers their clothing usually, but most riders really don’t need these.

Even the fanciest rims, the flattened out, wide, presumably aerodynamic rims you’ll see on the wheels of the pros, are not certainly all that much better. They are, however, flashier, and in the world of bicycling, this apparently does count for something, maybe for intimidation.

Aluminum Is the Material of Preference for Most Bike Rims

Do you need to know anything special about your bicycle rims? Not really. Most bicycles come with rims appropriate to their overall quality. You can spend as much money as you want on a rimlike everything else associated with the sport of bicyclingbut what comes standard on a bike is probably sufficient.

Customizing your rims will bring you fancier rims, maybe lighter rims, probably stronger rims, but the research on what constitutes the best rim weight, strength and shape is still largely inconclusive, and since this feature causes so few problems to the recreational rider, you can leave this issue to the professional mechanic who services the bicycles of world class racers. When they’ve resolved the issue, you will know about it!

Meanwhile, if your bicycle rims are aluminum, as most are today (steel rims being heavy, carbon rims being expensive), there is very little you need to do for them.

As with all parts of your bicycle, rims should be kept clean of dirt and corrosive oils, wiped after long dusty rides and examined after any crash. Otherwise, do what most riders have always done: forget about your bicycle rims. You may not be able to ride a bike without them, but you really cannot ride a bike better for thinking about this vital but happily innocuous part.

Hoodia FAQ: Which Hoodia Gordonii is Authentic?

Posted in Uncategorized

We looked at the “Hoodia FAQ” page of many different company’s websites that are currently selling or that intend to sell a hoodia product. Other than what is hoodia gordonii, how does it work and is it safe, the most frequently asked questions at these sites revolve around which hoodia gordonii is authentic.

Just about every health supplement company that sells a hoodia gordonii appetite suppressant has a hoodia FAQ page on its website. We were curious about the “most” frequently asked questions as reported by the different companies and by Phytopharm, who is not presently selling a hoodia product, but maintains a website specifically for hoodia FAQ. What is it, how does it work and is it safe appear to be the most frequently asked questions, but lately company’s have had to support their claims about the authenticity of the hoodia gordonii they are selling. So, which hoodia gordonii is authentic? First we have to define what “authentic hoodia gordonii” means and why there is any question.

When it comes to something like “green tea”, there is never any question about authenticity. Green tea is so common that no one has ever been accused of selling “counterfeit green tea”. When it comes to hoodia gordonii, questions about authenticity arise because of accusations that some companies were selling counterfeit hoodia gordoni. This accounts for the appearance of “which hoodia gordonii is authentic” on hoodia FAQ pages. It is unclear at this time whether the fake hoodia gordonii claims were true or a creation of rival companies, trying to increase their share of the market. There was a spam letter about a hoodia product that was sent to a very large number of e-mail addresses, but no one knows if anyone actually sent money to these spammers.

It is relatively simple to tell which hoodia gordonii is authentic or at least appears to be authentic. Most companies have a certifications page or it may be included as part of their hoodia FAQ page. Certifications for authentic hoodia gordonii will include a CITES license for exporting hoodia gordonii from South Africa. Some companies have analytical reports which are completed by independent laboratories verifying the products as hoodia gordonii and sometimes indicating the presence of the p57 molecule. A phyto-sanitary document is sometimes included, depending on whether the company imports the hoodia themselves or buys from a wholesale distributor of bulk ingredients. Customers can buy products from companies which display documents like these with relative confidence. A money back guarantee also helps.

From Phytopharm’s official hoodia FAQ comes the question; are other products that claim to contain hoodia the same as Phytopharm’s products? This may be the ultimate which hoodia gordonii is authentic question. Phytopharm’s answer is that only their product, which will not be available for several years, is “botanically verified to contain pure hoodia gordonii and has quantified levels of the chemical constituents that produce the anti-obesity effects…has had extensive safety studies performed and been clinically proven to reduce calorie intake and body fat.” How Phytopharm knows that only their product has been verified is unclear and leads to another hoodia FAQ. Are hoodia products currently on the market effective appetite suppressants? This appears to vary on an individual basis. An informal study by Dr. Joseph Varallo suggests that at least one hoodia product appears to be an effective appetites suppressant. You can read Dr. Varallo’s complete conclusions at the Desert Burn website. Our final answer to the hoodia FAQ; which hoodia gordonii is authentic? Only a chemist or botanist can tell for sure.

World Class Orthopedic Surgery India, Affordable Costs, Hip, Knee & Shoulder Surgery

Posted in Uncategorized

Chennai hospitals and doctors find favor in the UK & USA, for orthopedic surgery. Treatments like Hip & Knee replacements, Shoulder surgery, and Knee & Shoulder arthroscopy are available. Sea side spas and resorts nearby allow recuperation following orthopaedic surgery. Patients from the UK, USA, Australia and Canada with orthopedic problems are now attracted to this south Indian city.

Absence of hidden costs and agents, transparent dealings, skilled surgery, nursing, physiotherapy, clean hospitals are factors responsible for increasing medical tourism. Emerging collapse of Medicare in the US and the NHS in the UK are forcing ordinary folk without medical insurance to seek orthopedic treatment in India. Elderly people with chronic orthopaedic problems like Hip and knee osteoarthritis, shoulder and spine problems are unable to withstand their pain and cannot afford private treatment in their own countries.

They discover well qualified and trained Indian doctors performing these operations in India at affordable costs. Having worked in the West earlier enables doctors to understand the requirements of their patients in terms of comfort, standard of care, communication, food habits of the patients etc. Westerners find themselves comfortable in the presence of UK qualified doctors. The common operations like total knee & hip replacements, hip resurfacing, arthroscopic surgery of shoulder and knee are much in demand amongst these medical tourists. While emergency care is excellent in the UK’s NHS, patients are faced with long waiting lists of up to a year for elective orthopedic surgery. Having paid up their tax contributions they become frustrated when they cannot get timely surgical treatment for chronic joint problems.

Unlike patients with heart disease, people with orthopaedic problems can travel safely and are doing exactly that, flying half way around the world to India for orthopedic surgery. Mark Carr, an outdoor sports expert from Wales who underwent shoulder surgery in Chennai six months ago, says “When recently faced with a further 12 months of shoulder pain and the resultant inactivity, I decided to look for a solution outside the NHS. Of course there is private surgery in the UK. I asked the cost and was told £4500. This was more than I could afford. Back to search the web and reults lead me to Chennai. My operation was skillfully performed, I know that because I have seen the photographs and am now enjoying the results.

After ten days the constant nagging pain that had been with me for more than a year had gone and I enjoyed my first full night’s sleep for that same period.” The same kind of frustration and inability to earn income and lay off from work due to pain arising from Knee osteo-arthritis also drove Mr. Brian Toughton, a 66 year old luxury coach driver from Stratford upon Avon to seek a knee replacement in Chennai. He came to have only one knee replaced, but when he realized that he couldn’t afford another trip for surgery to his other knee which was also in the same diseased state; he decided to have bilateral knee replacements done. He

did not regret it and was able to enjoy a fortnight’s holiday in a seaside resort. Concerns amongst patients about cleanliness of hospitals, skills of surgeons, and familiarity of latest techniques are put to rest easily as Mr. Cliff Arkley, a marine consultant from Sussex found out recently by his experience. This gentleman underwent bilateral partial knee replacements. The prosthesis inserted was Unicondylar prosthesis with a mobile bearing. The surgery was performed through 3 inch long incisions called minimally invasive surgery or MIS. Advantages of minimally invasive surgery are decreased blood loss, lesser operating time and morbidity, less pain, quick rehabilitation and return of function. MIS, high flexion knee replacements ( allowing more natural bending of the knee to 155 degrees) are some of the latest advances in knee surgery available in the west and foreigners are delighted to have the same performed in India for a fraction of the cost. Affordable Costs – A total hip replacement in the US costs $39000, whereas one in Chennai costs only $6000 along with the cost of the implant.

A TKR in the UK costs 9500 pounds whereas the same can be done here for 3000 pounds. Patients find it easier to pay out of pocket than claim insurance. These surgical options are attractive . An added attraction at the successful conclusion of their surgery is recuperation in nearby resorts and spas. This added comfort mitigates to some extent the absence of loved ones by their side during recovery. The increase in numbers of foreign patients would boost the economy of the country. The standard of Indian hospitals would go up as institutions would be obliged to get JCI accreditation. Although costs are important in the short term, quality of care, research inputs, efficient management and long term results will fuel the industry of medical tourism. Governments should take note and should make available all incentives to doctors and hospitals to promote medical tourism like reduction in duties of imported equipment, reduction in visa processing times airport formalities and infra structure improvement. The trend in medical tourism to India will be then there to stay.

Benefit from Outdoor Trampolines in August

Posted in Uncategorized

Outdoor trampolines can be exceedingly amusing as well as being helpful to keep your youngsters immersed and amused for oodles of hours. Some Trampolines are not merely designed for toddlers, as they can be purchased by people in their 20’s as an aerobic fitness work-out in addition as a way for toning and making stronger body muscles simultaneously Consequently, a trampoline has a large amount to provide throughout August for all the family and it’s of no astonishment that trampolines are such a successful toy during the summer holidays. Toy Shopper has details on a whole range of mini trampolines.

The key thing to keep in mind when looking for a kids trampoline is to make sure it is suitable for both the age and ability of all the people who will likely to be testing it, be it the children or the adults.

An added thing to bear in mind is of course going to be the site of the outdoor trampoline. A number of trampolines currently can consume up a substantial amount of floor space especially as you will need about three feet of grass around the exterior of the trampoline in order for the teenagers to dismount in one piece if they fortuitously fall off.

It is also essential to note that the majority of outdoor trampolines will demand to be placed on flat ground otherwise the robustness & well-being of the bouncy trampoline can be greatly affected. Therefore, a few holes perhaps will need to be produced in order for the bouncy trampoline to stand appropriately.
